Asymmetric is a full-service wealth & investment management firm, serving clients all across the United States and Europe. We pride ourselves on the boutique nature of our firm. As a client of Asymmetric Wealth Management, you have access to a suite of services designed around you, with only you and your family in mind.
We are a referral-only firm, and have been blessed with a number of clients who are truly friends. We limit the number of clients we serve so that each receives the time and attention they deserve. When we do take on a new relationship, we thoughtfully consider a range of variables:
We appreciate that some people want or need a ‘broker’. We respectfully decline operating in that role. Asymmetric’s services are only of value to clients who chose to engage us as total planning partners. While that doesn’t mean every asset a client owns must be held or managed by us, it does mean they must be a part of our discussion, analysis and planning.
While we don’t have a dollar amount minimum for a new client relationship, there are certain aspects of our approach that are only able to be applied to larger portfolios. As a firm specializing in serving high net worth clients, higher asset levels ensure our investment methodology can be effectively implemented and economies of scale realized. Please understand we are not an ‘elitist’ firm. As stated above, the time invested in an advisor / client relationship is important, and our goal is to protect our current relationships while growing at a measured pace. The nature of the referring relationship is the most important consideration.
Life is too short to work with people you don’t “gel” with. There are many qualified advisors who will sell an investment and disappear with little regard for managing the relationship. We certainly know our involved process means we’re not the advisor for everyone. If, after our initial mutual interview, there isn’t a sense of “fit”, we will help you find an advisor to suit your needs.
As a professional in the limelight, you have unique needs that many advisors are not equipped to assist with. From “newfound wealth” syndrome to family and friend relations, Asymmetric Wealth Management is one of a small group of firms that is specifically trained to address the demands of your public and private life. We have an office in Southeastern Michigan with easy access to Detroit, Cleveland and Fort Wayne / Indianapolis, as well as a location in Music City, USA - Nashville. If our offices are convenient for you, we’d love to have you come in for a consultation. If your proximity or schedule don’t allow that, Mikel will happily travel to you.
Mikel started out in the investment world at 21 years old, introduced to the world of stock trading in college and landing at his first first firm at the height of the tech age. But, as history would write, the high-flying 90’s markets would soon end. Around the time of the sale of the firm where he was a NASDAQ trader, he transitioned to the other side of the desk as a financial advisor.
Now, 17 years after entering the field, Mikel is thankful for the relationships he has with his clients and for the family that provides incredible support and keeps him grounded. As one of a small group of NFLPA Registered Financial Advisors in Michigan, Mikel embraces the level of responsibility the advisor role requires, and strives to exceed all of his clients’ expectations of what a financial advisor should be.

Julie Field is the executive assistant at Asymmetric Wealth Management. She is very active in the community, and spends her time as a Kiwanis board member and ATHENA council member.
She has received the certification of "master gardener" from Michigan State University, and uses her skill to keep Hidden Lake Gardens looking beautiful. She is a past development director for the Boys & Girls Club, and was voted in the "top 5" for recipient of Lenawee County's "Citizen of the Year." She lives in Adrian with her husband John and their reasonably well-behaved dog, Bailey (which Mikel tolerates with some success).
